POSITION & LEVEL/GRADE: Retail Supervisor (Full-Time) - A3/3
JOB SUMMARY:
The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science is seeking a Full-time Retail Supervisor to support the Retail team. The Retail Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Science Store, including retail inventory management, while leading daily operations to ensure sales goals are met. This team member plays a key role in creating a positive first impression of Frost Science and is an integral part of the museum’s 365-day operation. The position requires a friendly and professional demeanor when greeting guests, providing customer service, promoting retail and promotional items, performing transactions in the point-of-sale system (Heartland Retail), and completing daily operational tasks. The Retail Supervisor is expected to model and promote outstanding customer service at all times.
AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must have open availability between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. daily, with primary availability expected Friday through Sunday. Availability on holidays is required, and occasional late evenings may be required during special events throughout the year.

Daily tasks involve walking, standing, stooping, sitting, climbing, and reaching, as well as using hands and fingers to handle merchandise, operate equipment, and use computers and point-of-sale systems. The position regularly requires lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, particularly when using computer systems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those as employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The working environment is both the interior and exterior spaces of the museum. Must be able to work for extended periods of time in elements such as sun, rain, heat, wind, etc. Exposure to outdoor activities is often requested.
