SUMMARY:
The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science is seeking a temporary, Retail Brand Ambassador for its off-site retail kiosk located at Dadeland Mall, Miami, Florida. The Brand Ambassador is responsible for delivering a superb guest experience by promoting Frost Science’s mission, which includes admission ticket and merchandise sales at the kiosk. This position plays a critical role in ensuring a positive and engaging visitor experience while also accurately processing sales and managing daily operations.
The Brand Ambassador will greet guests with a friendly demeanor, provide information about the museum's exhibits and products, and process transactions using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system. This role requires exceptional customer service skills and a strong commitment to enhancing the visitor experience.
SITE LOCATION: Dadeland Mall, Miami, FL
SALARY: $16.00 per hour
AVAILABILITY:
Must have open availability 4 days a week, from 9:30 AM to 10:00 PM, including weekends and holidays.
DATE RANGE: This is a temporary position from 10/26/2024 through 02/02/2025.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actively participate in task assignments and sales goal reviews at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Monitor guest flow around the kiosk, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and consistently greeting and acknowledging visitors.
- Provide personalized recommendations on museum products, educational toys, books, and exhibit-related items to enhance visitor engagement.
- Ensure accuracy during transaction processing and actively promote add-on merchandise to increase sales.
- Maintain a clean and organized retail kiosk, ensuring product displays are appealing and well-stocked.
- Prioritize tasks such as inventory management, sorting, and merchandising in a fast-paced environment.
- Adhere to all cash-handling and security policies during transaction processing.
- Utilize customer service training to address visitor issues and provide timely, effective resolutions.
- Embody the values of Frost Science by delivering exceptional service and promoting the museum’s educational mission and encouraging admission ticket sales.
- Communicate opportunities for improvement or guest feedback to management to optimize the retail experience.
- Assist with emergency procedures or evacuations, offering guidance to guests as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and create a safe environment for both staff and guests.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
- High School diploma (minimum requirement); higher education preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proven experience in customer service, preferably in a high-traffic environment.
- Previous retail experience is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and assist guests from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations in a fast-paced setting.
- Fluency in multiple languages, particularly Spanish, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must be a collaborative team player and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Flexible and open to taking on additional tasks as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly between different spaces to assist guests.
- Must be capable of lifting and moving items up to 30 pounds as required.
- Requires frequent physical activities such as standing, walking, stooping, and reaching.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is performed at the off-site retail kiosk located at Dadeland Mall, Miami, Florida. The position may involve standing for extended periods of time.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Background clearance.
- Drug screening as part of the Drug-Free Workplace Program.
